It’s that time of year where the 2016 Newzoo data is in; it’s been investigated, collated and presented in those oh so tasty chunks of gaming goodness (and they give it away for free!). So Ladies and Gentlemen, we give you the Newzoo Global Games Report 2016 summary.

Here are some of the key findings:

– Traditional media companies see esports as a way to engage with millennials and make up for the aging viewer community around traditional sports.

– In 2016, 58% of growth of the global games market comes from the Asia-Pacific region.

– Mobile games will generate $36.9Bn or 37% of the global games market, up 23.7% from 2015.

– The top 20 countries generated $89.4Bn or 89.8% of total global game revenues.
